Real Business
Authentic marketing is not the art of selling what you make but knowing what to make. It is the art of identifying and understanding customer needs and creating solutions that deliver satisfaction to the customers, profits to the producers and benefits for the stakeholders. - Philip Kotler
No matter what business you are in, remember that Real Business occurs at the point of a sale. Business happens when money is exchanged for goods or services or information.
Everything else is a business process and should not be confused with the business itself. Without a sale, there is no business!
However the process that produces a sale is called; MARKETING! Marketing is the real business behind real business. Without it there are no sales, no customers and no business.
Marketing is the process of generating and retaining customers. Brian Tracy, America's leading career coach, says that getting and keeping customers is the purpose and the point of a business.
The process by which you get and keep customers is called marketing.
So what business are you really in?
Here's my tip: Make marketing your main business and you'll never go out of business!Think it through!
